Those who prefer boat fishing can easily access these areas from Round Hill Creek, especially in calm weather conditions.

Offshore:
The Discovery Coast serves as a gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef, offering options such as Fitzroy Lagoon, Boult and Lamon Reefs, as well as iconic islands like Lady Musgrave Island. The Inner and Outer Wides, located between the mainland and the reefs, are also favored spots. These areas are teeming with Coral Trout, Sweetlip, large Red Emperor, and Spanish Mackerel. The Town of 1770 provides excellent boating facilities, with the closest reef approximately 30 miles offshore. Additionally, there is a service station in Agnes Water and on-water refueling available at the Seventy Marina.

Creek & Estuary:
For those inclined towards estuary fishing, there are numerous options in the area, including Round Hill, Eurimula Creek, Middle Creek, Jenny Lind Creek, and Pancake Creek, among others. The diversity of fish species available is extensive, including Barramundi, Queenfish, Mangrove Jack, Trevally, Estuary Cod, Grunter, Silver and Pike Bream, Burnett Salmon, Flathead, and Whiting. Whether it’s fishing in mangrove-lined creeks, drifting along channel edges, casting a fly on the sandflats for Gold Trevally, or pursuing a delicious catch of prawns and mud crabs, the opportunities are plentiful.
