2020 has certainly been a year like no other so when discovering the region wound to a halt due to COVID-19, we asked the amazing Gladstone Region residents to help inspire us and inspire they did! We put the call out for the best sunrise or sunset photo in the region and we were delivered in excess of 40 entries with these being the top 10 as voted by YOU. It’s hard to put in to words the beauty of a sunrise/sunset so we thought we’d let the photos do the talking…
A different take on a sunset photo and boy, are we fans of different! Taken in a backyard in Clinton, there is something truly hypnotic about this shot!
There’s beauty everywhere, whether you look at the water or the sky… doubly delightful.
There’s not much more to say than this is nature working together perfectly with the sun shining through those trees beautifully.
Oh Tannum Sands, how we love you so! It’s certainly not hard to see why!
This snap quite possibly looks like it belongs on a postcard and certainly makes us want to wake up early.
We’re not sure what’s more impressive… the colours in the sky or the reflection of the sunset on the car windscreen. We think BOTH!
The sun, the reflections, the simplicity of this shot has us in awe! Oh Agnes Water, how you never disappoint!
There is no other word bar magnificent to explain the colours in the sky over those mountains.
This snap has us wishing that was our view everyday! Just devine.
There’s nothing like palm trees and water to add to a beautiful sunrise/set scene. The only thing better than the photo is that we wish we were there watching it in person.

Did you know that 1770 is one of only four places on the east coast of Australia where you can watch the sun rise and set over the ocean and it’s right here in the Gladstone Region!
