The Feast on East Markets is a vibrant community event, held in conjunction with cruise ship arrivals in Gladstone. The markets are held in the award winning, waterfront East Shores Precinct which spans along Flinders Parade. This precinct includes a vertical water play park and waterfront boardwalk – incorporating a viewing platform, barbecues and an abundance of open green space to play. The festivities of the Feast on East Markets include live entertainment, a wide range of market stalls, children’s activities, a variety of food and our nationally acclaimed Cruise Welcome Program. The HMAS Gladstone lies at anchor at the East Shores Precinct, alongside Auckland Inlet. The HMAS Gladstone is open to visitors for scheduled tours.
The carpark at the wharf entrance at East Shores (Flinders Parade) is closed to the public on cruise days. Car parking is available for locals at the Yacht Club entrance of East Shores. Please note that car parks will be busy on cruise days, so be prepared to walk a short distance.
Gladstone Area Promotion and Development Ltd. (GAPDL) have over 100 specially trained Cruise Welcome Ambassadors to greet passengers as they disembark the ship and arrive into the Feast on East Markets. Disembarking passengers will receive a welcome bag with visitor guides and maps, along with helpful local knowledge from the Cruise Welcome Ambassadors.
