GAPDL have identified Businesses within the Gladstone Region as having specific gaps in their capacity to compete successfully in the online market; nationally and globally. 90% of the Gladstone Region’s 4000 plus Small Businesses are actively using the web, however only about 26% of those are actually doing this effectively.
We are very confident that there will be businesses in Australia and in other parts of the world, looking to break into the ever-changing online market. We want them to be prepared and well equipped; not just necessarily today, but tomorrow and into the future.
Recent studies have shown that the Gladstone Region is about to launch into a peak population development over the next few years. Project GROW is in essence a means to prepare and capitalise on the plentiful opportunities that will arise from such progression.
We want Small Businesses to benefit from the initial ‘marketing boost’ to their company’s online presence. Additionally their business will reap benefit from the inevitable growth and prosperity of the Region courtesy of the Small Business Online Program and ‘Project GROW’.
On top of the significant commercial opportunities available to individual firms, businesses throughout the Gladstone Region need to recognise the significant competitive advantages on offer through a collective, collaborative and synchronized online presence.
GAPDL is working hard to strengthen the network of our small businesses through the development of ‘swap clusters’ across the region. These swap clusters will allow customers to identify linkages with aligning products and services inside the Gladstone Region.
On behalf of GAPDL in a strong and vital partnership with AusIndustry, we recognise and appreciate the huge support we’ve had from local businesses for Project GROW. I encourage ALL small and home based businesses to actively participate in this fantastic opportunity for business development and investment.
