GAPDL Initiatives
Gladstone Area Promotion and Development Limited (GAPDL) is a community organisation representative of local authorities, statutory authorities, and private businesses involved in tourism, industry, commerce and community organisations drawn from the City of Gladstone and the Shires of Banana, Calliope, Miriam Vale, and Monto.
GAPDL’s goals are aimed at achieving significant economic spin-offs for the Region and its members. This includes increased visitation and tourism and various initiatives that will have long-term outcomes in terms of employment generation, increased population and development of commercial markets.
The broad objectives of the organisation are:

Promoting the region as a place for living, visiting and investing;

Generating a favourable regional climate for investment;

Coordinating potential investment opportunities and developments;

Liaising with industry on processing and manufacturing opportunities;

Enhancing the tourism industry through marketing and promotion;

Seeking expansion of tourism attractions and services in the region;
-
Providing accurate and timely information;
-
Development of events and conferences within the region;
-
Monitoring community issues related to development and tourism;
-
Encouraging a unified approach within the community.
To fulfil these objects, the work GAPDL completes on behalf of the Gladstone Region can be divided into three core areas: Economic Development, Tourism Marketing and Community Development.
