After their recent sold out tour 'Sway Sway Baby live' and their #2 ARIA Smash Hit, Short Stack are again hitting the road again for their third national tour in support of the band's new album Stack Is The New Black. Short Stack (Shaun Diviney guitar / lead vocals, Andy Clemmensen bass / vocals and Bradie Webb drums / keyboards) are undoubtedly one of the hottest young bands in Australia right now, proof enough from the bands recent Channel [V] Oz Artist of the Year win where they'd received over 400,000 votes. The teenaged three-piece from New South Wales' Central Coast has gone on to do what no other Australian music act has successfully achieved - used the combined powers of SMS, YouTube and MySpace to amass a following that's growing by the second; racking up over four million plays on MySpace, with over one million plays for their second single Princess alone, and on top of that, being Australia's biggest band on YouTube with over 2.5 million views of the Short Stack TV series and video clips. In between HSC exams and gigs supporting the likes of The Veronicas, Simple Plan and Good Charlotte, work began on Stack Is The New Black with all the songs written by Shaun. Stack Is The New Black covers a range of styles - from epic ballads to fast and furious electro-tinged rock anthems. Tickets: One price $50.00

Harbour Festival |
Date: 28th March to 4th April 2010 2010

The week-long celebration that we have come to know and love as the Gladstone Harbour Festival has a humble past but a very exciting future!
Over 48 years ago the Gladstone Harbour Festival was born - a one-day celebration to greet the winners of the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race as they crossed the finishing line. The Festival rapidly expanded to seven days and nights, jam-packed with entertainment that we now know as the Gladstone Harbour Festival. The Festival has enjoyed a huge growth, with over 70 000 spectators visiting the annual event. Much of this success can be contributed to the range and quality free entertainment provided at the Festival throughout the entire week.

Don't be a fool, change your smoke alarm battery |
Date: 1 April 2010
Venue: Queensland
| Contact Details: | www.changeyourbattery.com |
Don't be a fool, change your smoke alarm battery this April Fool's Day The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) and Duracell are reminding all Queenslanders there is a serious side to April Fool's Day - April 1 is also the day to change all smoke alarm batteries because only working smoke alarms help save lives. QFRS Commissioner Lee Johnson said while most people are aware of the silent and deadly affects of smoke inhalation many underestimate the vital role smoke alarms play in alerting people in the event of a fire. ?In order to escape from a fire people need to be awake but smoke alarms can only provide the necessary warning signs if they are in working order - they’re not much use if they’re disconnected, pulled down or the battery is flat,- Mr Johnson said. ‘That’s why it’s vital that all Queenslanders use April 1 as the day to change their smoke alarm battery and make sure they are working.’ Last year there were over 1850 residential fires nationally with most house fires take place during the night between 9pm and 6am. Alarming research released in the 2009 Duracell National Fire Safety Report revealed that one in five Australians take down or remove the battery of their smoke alarm when it’s accidentally triggered by cooking. Sadly many Queenslanders lose their lives as a result of not having working smoke alarms. It’s tragic when you think these lives could have been saved for as little as five dollars - the price of a long-lasting Duracell alkaline battery.
IMPORTANT SMOKE ALARM FACTS:
· Smoke alarm batteries should be replaced with long-lasting alkaline batteries every 12 months on April 1.
· Smoke alarms should be tested monthly to see if they work by pressing the test button with a broom handle.
· Smoke alarms should be vacuumed every six months to clean the vents.
· Smoke alarms should be installed outside sleeping areas and on each level of a house.
· People who sleep with their door closed should have a smoke alarm in their room.
· Avoid locating smoke alarms near cooking appliances and bathrooms as the smallest amount of smoke or steam can activate them.
· In a rental property it is the tenant’s responsibility to regularly clean and test a smoke alarm.
· People with a hearing impairment need to be alerted by vibrating pads or a strobe light in the event of a fire.

A hilarious comedy about 'over the hill' cleaners who start 'talking dirty' and end up filthy rich! A trio of hard-working cleaners are facing the axe. They might be past their best, beyond their sell-by date and over the hill but they certainly won't take threats of redundancy lying down. These game 'girls' set up a phone service, known as 'The Telephone Belles', and that's when the fun really begins. Their bosses don't know about it, their families would never guess and their very willing customers are none the wiser. They're the only chat-line girls with dusters, attitude and their very own bus passes! Don't miss the original old-timers who become good-time girls in this year's must-see comedy! This fabulous show is kindly supported by Southern Cross Ten, Hot FM and The Observer. Tickets: Adults $40.00 Friends $30.00 Concession $30.00 Students $25.00 Groups 8+ $25.00
