Glenn Churchill
Chief Executive Officer

Glenn has been actively associated with GAPDL for nine years, as a member of the Board Directors for five years and is now in his fourth year as Chief Executive.

Glenn has held various other important leadership and senior management positions including elected Mayor/Councillor Banana Shire (11 years), qualified Queensland Police Service Senior Sergeant (26 years), elected CQ representative on LGAQ State Executive and CQU Council.

Glenn has held a number of other appointed positions and roles within the Region and is the current Chairman of the Gladstone Region Economic Partnership.

He holds formal tertiary qualifications in management, business management, HR, local government administration, public safety administration, project management and law.

He has been admitted as a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (FAIM) and throughout his career and service to the community,  Glenn has been bestowed and humbled by acknowledgements with the Prime Minister’s Medal for “Service to the Community”, Queensland Police Commissioner’s Medal for distinguished service, National Police Medal and holds the honour of being a Life Member of State PCYC and Life Member of other community and sporting organisations.


Kim William
Senior Project Officer

As Senior Project Officer, Kim is responsible for overseeing delivery of GAPDL’s many and varied projects, programs, services and activities, taking an active and hands on approach to ensuring appropriate human, financial and physical resources of the GAPDL Project Delivery team are available to achieve established goals, objectives and key performance outcomes.   Kim also coordinates the development and implementation of Policies, Practices, Procedures, Initiatives, Processes and Systems for the effective and efficient administration of GAPDL Projects and Activities.

Kim has extensive experience in Project Management and delivery, Marketing and Events Management and has held Senior Management Roles across a diverse range of Business Operations



 

Karen Sweeney
Project Officer - Project GROW

Karen is tasked with overseeing the delivery of the Gladstone Region Small Business Advisory Service and its programs which are dedicated to assist small to medium businesses in the areas of online marketing and e-business.  This is facilitated through workshops and consultations with specialists throughout the Gladstone Region.

Melissa Dahtler

Melissa's role is to support the implementation of strategic development plans and funding opportunities for the growth of the Gladstone Region, with a focus on strategically overseeing and delivering projects for the benefit of the Gladstone Region.

Major Projects include, the redevelopment of the Gladstone Region website as part of the Queensland Network Grant Scheme, Delivery of a pre-feasibility study for the redevelopment of the Round Hill Lookout in Gladstone, as part of the Tourism Projects Pre-feasibility Grants. 

She is also the Coordinator of the Aussie Host Customer Service program which provides attendees with training in the area of customer service excellence.

Joanne Goldsborough
Project Officer - Membership & Marketing

Joanne commenced with GAPDL in March 2010 in the role of Membership and Marketing.
She has over five years practical experience in media, marketing and community relations and has over 20years experience in sales and customer service roles. 

Joanne has a strong community focus and looks forward to working with our valued members, Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteer Ambassadors.

 

Katherine Van Itallie

Katherine is new to the GAPDL team and has taken over the Events Coordinator role. As part of her role, it is Katherine's responsibility to coordinate all GAPDL functions including the Annual Gladstone Region Economic Development Conference, Regular Business Enterprise Luncheons and Famils.

 

Kacey Smith

Kacey's role with GAPDL has a focus on tourism initiatives including regional funding opportunities, promotion through Caravan and Camping Expo's, Billboard and Signage development and facilitation of a major tourism project - the Gladstone Region Industry Interpretive Centre (GRIIC).

Kacey has qualifications in Management, Business and Fitness and is currently completing a degree at CQU.  She is also a qualified Justice of the Peace.

Ngari Daniel

Project Officer - Media and Communications

Email

Ngari has been part of the GAPDL Team for three years and has successfully completed her Certificate III in Business Administration. She is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Communications with a strong focus on journalism and public relations.


Ngari oversees a range of media and communications projects and aims to build strong working relationships within the Gladstone Region. As well as overseeing GAPDL's media and communication strategies, Ngari compiles the bi-monthly Project Status Report, the GAPDL Member Newsletter, press releases and corporate communication documents.

Ngari liaises with a range of investors, council representatives, tourism representatives, GAPDL Members and local industries to provide effective corporate communications.

 

Jessica Heuschele
Project Support Officer

Jessica has completed here Cert III in Business Administration with a focus on tourism components and is now responsible for the processing of the RSMS applications and project support for GAPDL projects, programs and services.

Jessica also provides administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer and Senior Project Officer when and where necessary.

Jessica looks forward to continuing to build strong connections and working relationships with our valued members and the community.


 

Leigh West
Administration Officer

Leigh has recently joined GAPDL as part-time Administration Assistant.  Leigh's role is to support the GAPDL Team overall, with her main focus being administrative support to the Project Officer for Finance.


   
 

Brooke Thommasen

Brooke is currently undertaking her Certificate III in Business Administration.  Brooke provides administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer, Senior Project Officer and Projects Officers within GAPDL.

 Brooke has a strong working relationship with the four Regional Visitor Information Centre Coordinators and Ambassadors as part of her Traineeship.

Holly Newton

Holly is currently undertaking her Certificate III in Business Administration.  Holly provides administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer, Senior Project Officer and Projects Officers with the organisation.

Visitor Information Centre Coordinators

Lynette Spencer

Gladstone Visitor Information Centre Coordinator

Lynette Spencer is the  Coordinator of the Gladstone Visitor Information Centre.  Lynette has only joined us recently and brings with her a wealth of experience in  customer service, local and regional knowledge, sales and service and Is keen to continue to work actively with the many loyal volunteer Ambassadors and the other Gladstone Region VIC Network Coordinators.


Lynette is also an active community volunteer with sporting , community and fund raising groups.



Greg Realf
Miriam Vale Visitor Information Centre Coordinator

Greg’s role encompasses the day to day running of the centre, seeking and training new Ambassadors as well as a strong focus on the wider community, economic and leadership development of our region.


Over the years Greg has played leading roles in community organisations: Playgroup, P&C, Lions, SES, Friends of the Baffle Basin, Miriam Vale Community Development and as a local government councillor.

 

Jan Wessling
Tannum Sands Visitor Information Centre Coordinator

As the Coordinator of the VIC, Jan Wessling strives to maintain the high quality of this service.  The job of Coordinator involves visitor services, rostering, brochure management, tourism statistics, office procedures, training Ambassadors, members services and overall management of the VIC.


Jan has 35 years experience in retail and business including customer service, people management, book keeping, working with volunteers, behaviour management, and the coordination of various departments. Jan has travelled widely throughout Australia and is enthusiastic about sharing her experiences with visitors.

 

Vicki Templeton
Agnes Water Visitor Information Centre Coordinator

As Co-ordinator of the Agnes Water/Seventeen Seventy Visitor Information Centre, Vicki Templeton’s role is one of welcoming all Visitors to The Birth Place of Queensland. As 1770 is also where one departs to see The Southern Great Barrier Reef.


Vicki and her wonderful Team of Volunteers ‘paint a picture’ on what to do, and see in the area.  This includes  arming them with maps, walking tracks, restaurants, accommodation and the sights and sounds of Agnes Water and The Town of 1770 – The best of both worlds, the most northerly surf beach before the beginning of the Great Barrier Reef, as well as the historical Bay where Lt. James Cook discovered Queensland on 24th May, 1770.

Communities for Children


 

Maree Tisdell
Program Coordinator

Maree is the new Project Officer for the GAPDL C4C (Communities for Children) program. Communities for Children is funded under the Australian Government's Family Support Program. It aims to deliver positive and sustainable outcomes for disadvantaged and at risk children from birth to twelve years and their families in disadvantaged sites throughout Australia. C4C recognizes that effective early childhood intervention is not only about supporting young children, but also supporting their parents, neighbourhoods and the wider community.

Maree has tertiary qualifications in Management and Community Engagement and is currently undertaking further study through CQU. Maree has worked closely with the community and welfare sectors in senior management roles for more than 20 years.

   
   

Debbie Flaherty

Debbie works closely with GAPDL and the Gladstone Regional Council to provide prevention and early intervention programs to families with Children up to 12years, who are at risk of being disadvantaged and who remain disconnected from childhood services. 

Gladstone Region C4C Fosters collaboration between services to achieve better outcomes for children under 12 and their families. C4C builds the capacity of service providers through training, practice reflection, media promotion, forums and on the ground projects, including program development. C4C works to ensure sustainable outcomes for existing services with community partners across the sectors-government, non-government and business. Families and their children get the benefit because our services are working together. C4C has identified many needs of Gladstone families and their children and by working with our community partners can respond to these needs. As part of a child-friendly community the vision of Gladstone C4C is "Living, learning, growing together for stronger families and stronger futures."
