Location & Access
The Oaks campground is located on the north west side of Facing Island. The campground has 35 sites scattered amongst the she-oak trees and are all within a short stroll to the Oaks beach.
The Southend campground is located 1.2km from the jetty, on the northeast side of the Southend township, Curtis Island. The campground is an open grassy area with large eucalypts providing some shade. There are 20 campsites at Southend with a short walk to Front Beach.
Both islands are approximately 12 km from the Gladstone mainland and can be accessed by private vessel or via the barge operated by Curtis Ferry Services.
Facilities
The campgrounds have basic facilities including composting toilets and picnic tables. Gas barbeques are located at the Southend campground only. Wood fires are not permitted.
Please carry your own drinking water. There is a tank water supply at both campgrounds, however recent tests have shown that it does not meet safe drinking water guidelines.
Generators are permitted.
